-
Arrival/Departure Times:
Arrival time is 4 p.m. Departure time is 12 noon.
-
WiFi Internet Access: The chalet
has a high-speed DSL line and a wireless router. Bring your
own laptop.
-
Telephone: Long distance toll
calls may be made using a telephone calling card. Because of
the scarcity of cellular towers in Vermont, cell service is
spotty. Neighboring Granville, NY and Manchester and
Rutland, VT have cell service.
-
No Smoking: The Rye Chalet is a no
smoking house. At the request of our guests, there is no smoking
inside the chalet. Those who smoke outside are asked to be
especially careful to extinguish and dispose of cigarette butts
because of the chalet’s 20 acres of woodlands.
-
Water: We have a deep drilled well
with clean, fresh water.
-
Children: Children are welcome. Parents
are responsible for their children.
-
Pets: Well-behaved pets are welcome with
the understanding that guests will be responsible for their pets.
-
Guide: Guided hiking, hunting and/or
fishing tours with a Certified Hunter-Safety and 'Let's Go Fishing'
Instructor can be arranged for an additional fee -- for all levels
from child to expert.
-
Access: The main chalet floor is easily
accessible for the elderly and infirm by driving to the end of the deck,
where there are only three stair steps, plus one more into the living
room of the main floor. There is one bedroom and bath on the main floor.
